Nibble — the Open Web browser

A tiny, fully custom browser for Open Web: independent sites hosted by the people who make them, at addresses like open://you.workshop. No ads, no tracking, about 20 MB of memory.

Download for Windows

Windows: unzip and open Nibble.exe. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway.

Linux (x86_64 or ARM64) and macOS: run this in a terminal.

curl -fsSL https://ratladder.com/openweb/nibble.sh | sh

On Linux it installs Nibble and adds it to your applications menu (or download it directly: · ). On macOS it builds Nibble on your Mac (a few minutes) and puts Nibble.app in your Applications folder.

Then visit open://register.open to claim your own name, or open://docs.open for the docs.

Host your own Open Web site

Run one line on your server (SSH is fine). It installs the owhost host from source.

Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo, macOS

curl -fsSL https://ratladder.com/openweb/install.sh | sh

Windows Server / Windows (PowerShell as Administrator)

irm https://ratladder.com/openweb/install.ps1 | iex

Then:

owhost init my-site
owhost dev my-site --name my-site.test

Reserve a name at open://register.open in Nibble, then claim it with owhost register. Source code: ·
